The president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, President Muhammadu Buhari has unveiled the new naira notes at the state house, Abuja.
This happened on Wednesday morning before the Federal Executive Council (FEC).
The unveiling had the presence of the Governor of CBN, Godwin Emefiele. Godwin at the unveiling debunked the insinuation that the early unveiling is a means to target any Nigerian.
Godwin appealed to Nigerians to stop the spread of that assumption as it is misinformation.
According to Emefiele, The Central Bank of Nigeria will intensify their efforts in monitoring the process of withdrawals, working with the EFCC and there will be heavy restriction on the volume of cash that can be withdrawn over the counter as they will be working with the EFCC will monitor the purpose of such transactions.
