The late Fela Anikulapo’s family has denied endorsing any presidential aspirant for the 2023 general elections, neither did they approve the use of the late legends song for political publicity.
Few days before their disclaimer, the All Progressive Party (APC) HAD USED ONE OF Fela’s song for their party’s ca,paign activities. The well known “Eko-Ile”
This act struck up assumptions that the Kuti family was supporting or endorsing the APC.
Reacting to the event, Femi Kuti went on his Instagram page to clear the air.
“We do not involve Fela’s music in any political campaign at home or abroad and choose to remain neutral.
“While we wish all candidates the best, we demand that the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria are abided by and intellectual property rights are duly respected. Signed the estate of Fela Anikulapo-Kuti,” he said.
