39-year-old Jeremiah Mfon, has allegedly confessed to impregnating his 13-year-old daughter in Ogun State. He claims he was under a spell.
Jeremiah, a resident of FIRRO Estate, off Adesan, Mowe, Obafemi-Owode Local Government Area of the State as confirmed by the Ogun state police command, was arrested following a report lodged at the Mowe divisional police headquarters by the victims mother.
The victim’s mother told the police that the daughter said her father impregnated her when she noticed pregnancy signs in her.
On taking her to the hospital, it was confirmed that the 13year old is four months pregnant, the police spokesman in Ogun, Abimbola Oyeyemi, told newsmen on Friday
The suspect was arrested and interrogated, confessing his crime but saying he was under a spell when he did it.
Oyeyemi claimed to have been dreaming having sex with his wife who had separated from him for some time only to realize it was his daughter he was having sex with.
The Commissioner of Police in Ogun state, Lanre Bankole, has redirected the case to the anti-human trafficking and child labour unit of the State CIID for further investigation and possible prosecution.
