Greensprings’ Teacher, Oguntoye Makes Top 60 of Cambridge Dedicated Teacher Award 2022

In this year’s Cambridge Dedicated Teacher Award, a chemistry teacher from Greensprings School, Mr. Lanre Oguntoye has emerged in the top 60 out of the nominated 7,000 teachers from 113 countries.

The Cambridge Dedicated Teacher Awards is a global competition in which primary and secondary school teachers are recognized and awarded for extraordinary impact on Education.​                 

Oguntoye had earlier received national honors as Lagos state champion of Maltina Teacher of the Year 2021 and Meadow Hall Foundation’s Inspirational Teacher of the Year 2019.

He was nominated for the Cambridge Dedicated Teacher Award 2022 by the school’s Anthony campus Head Girl, Emmanuella Ilok. In the nomination video sent to Cambridge University Press and Assessment, the award organizer, Ilok commended Oguntoye’s ability to simplify complex Chemistry concepts. 

She stated how he had inspired her interest in Chemistry at A-Level, been available to assist her, and how the teacher actively involves all students when teaching. She also talked about how her teacher Oguntoye is contributing immensely to expanding the body of knowledge in Chemistry beyond her school environment through his very engaging YouTube channel
