Nigeria vs Ghana 1-1: Pictures of fans vandalising parts of the MKO Abiola Stadium after Nigeria drew with Ghana have emerged on social media.

The draw meant Nigeria will miss out on the 2022 Qatar World Cup on the away goal rules.

The pictures seen by OJT reporters show hordes of invading fans on the main pitch as some hacked away at stadium infrastructure.

It was not immediately clear what directly triggered the violent actions.

Billows of smoke, apparently from tear gas canisters, could also be seen at a section of the stadium.

The MKO Abiola Stadium which was renovated recently was left in a state of disarray after the vandalisation happened.

It was also reported that a Zambian doctor Joseph Kabungo who was working as the CAF/FIFA medical officer at the match was beaten by fans until he lost consciousness. There were efforts to save his life but he didn’t make it.
